Story

The miracle of Georgian polyphonic singing last payed a visit to Budapest at WOMEX15, when Iberi choir took to stage. Again the audience can expect a unique experience as men in their black embroidered chokhas complete with swords sing out ancient songs acclaimed by UNESCO as part of humanity’s  intangible heritage. An overlap in members signals a shared mission: the proud and devoted rendering of their tradition. Balancing their momentous presence ALAVERDI can burst out singing drinking songs or crack vocal jokes any moment.
