Romengo and Mónika Lakatos rocketed into international recognition at the Opening Concert of WOMEX15, hosted by Hangvető. Professionals of the scene were spellbound by Mónika Lakatos’s magical voice and the authentic roma music of Northeast Hungary. Despite the ensuing series of foreign performances they continue to play their native tradition as humbly yet powerfully as ever. As roma music remains close to its vocal roots, their music is bound to inspire a recognition of our mutual heritage, as well as get your feet moving to the irresistible rhythms.
